“EmberClear and its partner DCO Energy’s $600 Million commitment in Archbald clearly demonstrates how clean energy jobs and sensible developments can be created in the local communities.”
David Anderson – Executive Chairman, EmberClear
Archbald Power Project is a 485 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle facility (NGCC) located in Lackawanna County, PA. The site is about 120 miles from New York City and 135 miles from Philadelphia. EmberClear has partnered with DCO Energy, a premier New Jersey-based construction company, to complete the development of Archbald Power.
The Project will be constructed on a 44-acre site that is already zoned for a power plant. The site is located within the Archbald Valley View Business Park developed by the Scranton Chamber of Commerce.
This environment friendly project will utilize the latest advanced gas turbine technology and minimize water use. Two sewage plants are located nearby and the site also has ample process water sources.
The Project has already completed the PJM Feasibility Study and expects to finalize the construction schedule by Q1-2017. The Project will build a 2.5-mile electric line connecting the generating facility to an existing 230kV line. The local utility is PPL (in the MAAC zone of the PJM RTO).
The Project is planning to construct a dedicated pipeline to access natural gas from local producers and major interstate natural gas transmission systems. The pipeline will also make natural gas available to local industries and residents.
The Air Permit to construct and all other key regulatory approvals are expected to be in place by Q3-2016. The Project will employ the latest advanced turbine technology and benefit from the best-in-class fuel efficiency.
The projected financial close is in Q2-2017 with a projected commercial operations start in Q1-2020. The Project will bring a $600 Million investment in Lackawanna County and create approximately 300 construction jobs and 25 permanent jobs.
