WASHINGTON, DC and CALGARY, AB – January 20, 2011 – As Chinese President Hu meets with President Obama and tours the United States this week, the White House released a statement which highlights EmberClear’s (TSXV: EMB) recent agreement with China’s largest electricity producer, Huaneng Power Group’s (NYSE: HNP) new corporation called the Clean Energy Research Institute (CERI).

Stating that “…exports [to China] are generating jobs in every corner of the United States and across every major sector,” the White House press release notes how EmberClear recently signed an exclusive license with Huaneng’s CERI to become a global licensing and development partner.

“We’re pleased that our groundbreaking clean energy agreement with China’s largest utility company has been recognized as such by the White House and the Obama Administration,” said Albert Lin, CEO of EmberClear. “It’s a perfect example of how US companies can work with China and create jobs here in America and around the world.”

Currently, EmberClear and CERI’s first joint project is a 270 Megawatt IGCC (gasification technology) power plant in Good Spring, Pennsylvania, which recently had all of its relevant permits approved. The exact language of the release follows:
