Forest City Power PROJECT
Forest City Power is a planned 1.4 GW natural gas-fired power project in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, approximately 10 miles north of Scranton, near Uniondale. EmberClear has partnered with a large infrastructure fund to develop the project on an 80-acre site within a larger 812-acre parcel.
EmberClear is working with the landowners to secure zoning approvals for power generation and potential data center development. The larger property offers an opportunity to develop a data center campus alongside the power facility.
The project has secured a position in PJM’s Cycle 1 interconnection queue, and air permitting is underway. The planned interconnection is to PPL’s 500 kV transmission system approximately 10 miles from the site. Existing water, sewer, natural gas, and electrical infrastructure supports development.
Two Tennessee Gas interstate pipelines are approximately three miles away, while UGI’s 18-inch and 24-inch pipelines cross the property, providing multiple potential fuel supply connections.
EmberClear has identified an EPC contractor and is advancing equipment procurement. The project targets a final investment decision in the second quarter of 2028 and commercial operation in the second quarter of 2031.
